Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (1) U15
Myer Hipkins (1G, 1A) and Yukon Kim scored 1:08 apart in the opening half of the first to give NAX a 2-0 lead. Ryder Davis got CIHA on the board with a penalty shot goal five minutes later, but Stratton Bruun (1G, 1A) was quick to respond for NAX, doing so just 30 seconds after that. The second belonged to NAX as they outshot CIHA 11-4 and got an even strength goal from defenseman Jesse Zhu (1G, 2A) and a power play tally from Rykker Kurka (1G, 1A) to extend their advantage to 5-1. Ayden Bouchard rounded out the scoring with his sixth of the season for NAX midway through the third period. Jace Hilliard (15/16) picked up his eighth win of the season.
CIH Academy (2) vs Bourget College (5) East U18 Prep
The visitors led 1-0 after 20 as Andrei Chumakov (1G, 1A) snagged his 13th goal on the season 8:23 into the game. Malik Roy (1G, 1A) evened the score 9:36 into the second period with his first goal of the season. Nikita Lozhenitsyn was quick to respond for CIH Academy, beating Samuel Pitcher (17/19) for his sixth of the season less than two minutes later. The two teams would head into the second intermission even at 2-2 as Xavier Martin (2G) scored late in the second. Bourget dominated the third as Justin Boudreau’s (1G, 1A) first of the season 4:00 was the eventual game winner. Martin would add his second of the game 5:05 later and Maxemile Richard added a late insurance marker on Jacob Kirstein (41/46) to give Bourget a 5-2 victory.
South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (3) U17 Prep
Nicholas Edgar scored just 34 seconds into the game as CIHA held a 1-0 lead after 20. Things would quickly change in the second as CIHA ran into penalty troubles and the SAHA power play was firing on all cylinders. Liam Green (3G) scored a 5-on-3 power play goal 2:17 into the second before capitalizing on a turnover to score another power play marker eight seconds later. Briggs Fabro added the third SAHA power play goal of the period to give their team a late second period, 3-1 advantage. Cooper Craven scored the first SAHA even strength goal 2:57 into the third period. Kash Codd replied for CIHA just a few minutes later to keep his team within striking distance. However, Green completed the hat-trick with 2:54 remaining to secure the SAHA win. Isaac Rimmer would add a consolation power play marker for CIHA with 22 seconds remaining. Chase Nielson (26/29) and Colton Lutz (24/29) were in net for their respective teams.
Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs BWC Academy (3) U17
Jaidyn Bhandari opened the scoring for BWC Academy 3:36 into the first with his eighth goal of the season. Tristan Reimer (2G) evened the score midway through the period as he converted a penalty shot on Ethan Watson (30/35) but Gavin Beza restored the BWC Academy lead just 43 seconds later. Reimer would counter for Prairie 1:37 after that as the two teams were once again level. They would head into the first intermission tied 3-3 after Kaz Westcott and Noah Delaurier (1G, 1A) traded goals in the final minute. Prairie grabbed their first lead of the game when Kayin Belton (1G, 1A) scored his second of the season midway through the second. Kase Gellner (1G, 1A) doubled the Prairie lead with 11 seconds left in the frame, scoring on the power play. Conner Aldag (27/30) would shut the door in the third to secure the 5-3 Prairie win in the first game of the Delta U17 showcase.
Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U17
The home side grabbed a 1-0 lead just 1:21 in as defenseman Josh Racic (1G, 1A) scored on the power play for his sixth goal of the season. Mikelis Kreicbergs scored the lone second period goal, on the man advantage, to tie the game heading into the final period. In the third OHO would outshoot Delta 11-7 but Sam Hioe broke the deadlock 4:47 into the frame and Beckham Skrypnyk added a power play marker to give Delta the 3-1 win. Lucas Disiewich (32/33) and Sawyer Tengum (26/29) were in net for their respective teams.
